Nominator's project description

Professor Ashraf Brik from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Israel Professor Ashraf Brik is internationally well known for his outstanding research in the field of peptidomimetic, peptide and protein chemistry. In particular, he has made important and groundbreaking contributions in the field of chemical biology by inventing novel chemical methods, which are of high importance in the fundamental understanding of the ubiquitin signal at the molecular level. In his research, Professor Brik combines a large variety of chemical biology approaches with intuitive intellectual insights. During his stay in Germany, he intends to widen his collaborations and investigate alternative methods in chemical synthesis of proteins and peptide antibiotics. Professor Brik is hosted by Professor R.D. Süssmuth at the Technische Universität Berlin
